Visiting Artist to Perform in Art Library Monday

ForumArt&SocialJusticeSantaFePrepNMUSA22012The Frederick and Kazuko Harris Fine Arts Library will host a live performance by Visiting Artist Issa Nyaphaga on Monday, February 25 from 12:30-3:00pm. 

Nyaphaga is an internationally acclaimed artist, political cartoonist and educator who grew up in the Tikar tribe of Cameroon. During the 1990s, he faced imprisonment for expressing dissent against the government of Cameroon that eventually led to his exile from the country. Since then he has lived in the United States and France and has become well-known for his work and activism. 

Nyaphaga will be spending the week at Ohio University’s College of Fine Arts and will also give an artist talk in Seigfried Hall’s Mitchell Auditorium at 7:30pm on Monday the 25th. More details about Nyagapha’s visit are available in this story from WOUB
