Libraries Update to Mobile-Friendly Website

Library Website on iOSIf you use the Libraries’ website on a desktop computer, you may have noticed a slight change in the appearance of our site.  If you use the Libraries’ website on a smaller screen, like a mobile phone or tablet, we hope you have recently noticed a big improvement in the appearance and navigation of our site.  On Monday, we launched our updated, mobile-friendly site that takes advantage of responsive web design in order to present our content to you based on the screen size of your device.

Prior to the updated design, users of the Libraries’ website on small mobile devices most likely used the Alden Library App.  The app was launched in August of 2012 and allowed users to search the ALICE catalog, renew books, check building hours and connect with a librarian. The updated Libraries’ website now does all of this and allows researchers access to the complete content of the Libraries’ website. Now that all of our web services and content are available easily on any browser on any device, the Alden Library App will be decommissioned at the end 2013.

Let us know what you think about the new design.
