Library Displays in Honor of Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela, former president of South Africa and a world-renowned anti-apartheid leader who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 passed away last week at the age of 95.

World leaders and South African mourners have gathered to pay their respects to Mandela this week. A new poster hangs in the stairwell of Alden Library and library patrons have taken the time to leave their own tributes and memories of Mandela on the poster.

On the 2nd floor book display there is also a selection of books about Mandela available for browsing. If you’re interested in learning more about Mandela, there are many more books about him in ALICE, the library catalog. The Biography in Context database also includes a profile of Mandela with links to books, journal articles and more about the leader.
