CINAHL should be the first place for nursing students to begin researching. CINAHL Plus with Full Text provides full text for more than 700 journals. It offers complete coverage of English-language nursing and allied health journals and publications in nursing, biomedicine, health sciences librarianship, alternative and complementary medicine, and consumer health. While PubMed will have many of the same journals indexed in CINAHL, this database is more user-friendly for the nursing and allied health majors. If you don’t see the full text of an article you want in the database, use the FindIt! button to locate the full text in another database.
To begin searching, you can use Keywords with Boolean, CINAHL Headings (thesaurus), or through specific journal titles. The video below walks you finding articles in the CINAHL database.
