The annual conference, said Carrie Preston, the Libraries’ head of web services and chairperson of the Ohio Valley Group of Technical Services Librarians, is an opportunity for librarians from Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and other states to share their knowledge, experiences and successful projects in the field of library and technical services.

“‘Technical services’ has traditionally been defined as acquisitions — selection and purchasing of library materials — and cataloging of library materials,” said Preston. “However, in this year’s conference we’ve made a significant effort to include presentations on the digitization of library and archival collections, as well.”

Gwen Evans, the executive director of OhioLINK, and Ben Hunter, the head of cataloging and collections at the University of Idaho Library, were keynote speakers.
