There are some items I am considering donating to Alden Library; how does that work?

The library accepts items which add to the uniqueness of our collection and that not are owned by a significant number of other OhioLINK libraries. To sum up: if Ohio University Library does not own the item, we would be interested in receiving it. We may decide not to add it to the collection if other libraries in Ohio own it.

Periodicals fall into a different category. They are generally not accepted because our runs are usually complete and because of the availability of electronic back issues.

To save time you may check our library catalog and OhioLINK to see if we own an item, or if other OhioLINK libraries own it, before you go to the trouble of making a list or attempting to deliver to us.

The person to contact about donations is Susie Rohrbough.
