It will sometimes happen that we own a book it is not AVAILABLE for you to check out. At other times you might be looking for a specific book and Ohio University doesn't own it at all. In many cases you will be able to get a copy of the book from OhioLINK, our statewide library and information network.

Usually the fastest way to get a copy of such a book is to click on the Repeat Search in OhioLINK button, which will take you to the record for the book in the OhioLINK Library Catalog:

To request the book, just click on the REQUEST THIS ITEM link and follow the instructions on the screen. (Clicking on the "__ libraries have this item" link lets you check to be sure that the book actually is available somewhere.)

The book will usually arrive here within a few days. You can check it out for 3 weeks, with as many as four (4) three-week renewals possible. When you're done, just bring it back to our Circulation Desk on the 4th floor of Alden Library and we'll send it back to wherever it came from.

Please note: this is for books only, plus a few videos and other materials. If you need journal articles that we don't have, use Interlibrary Loan to request them.
