Subject EncyclopediasBesides general encyclopedias, which cover all fields of study, we have literally hundreds, if not thousands, of encyclpedias that focus on a particular topic or field of study. Reference Universe (below) is probably the easiest way to find which subject encyclopedias have articles on the topic you're looking for. Reference UniverseReference Universe is a database which lists the title of all of the articles in thousands of subject encyclopedias. In other words, if you are looking for an encyclopedia article, enter the topic in the search box below and Reference Universe will tell you what subject encyclopedias have entries for that topic. Using ALICE to Find Subject EncyclopediasYou can find many more subject encyclopedias in ALICE by doing a Keyword search following this pattern: encyclopedias AND [your topic] For example, if you follow the link encyclopedias AND genetics, you will find more than 20 titles in ALICE. |
