Paper copies of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution are available on the 4th floor of Alden Library; current to the past few months: look for them in the newspaper shelving area. Prior to their merger in 2001, there were two separate newspapers, The Atlanta Constitution and The Atlanta Journal.

How to Search:
- On main page look for "Shortcuts" ( on the left sidebar) and choose "Major Metro Newspapers. "
- On the list of papers that appears, click on the link for "Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The."
- Do a traditional search or use the excellent "browse" feature by
clicking the link to the publication title. Allows you to select a date and
browse by section, i.e. society desk, real estate, classified, foreign desk
and many more.

How to Search:
- To limit your search to the The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, first click on the "Sources" tab near the top of the screen.
- Then, on the right, type "Atlanta Journal and Constitution" in the "Find a Source" box and press the "Go" button.
- Check the box that says only "Atlanta Journal and Constitution" with nothing else added.
- Then click on the red "OK - Continue" button on the right side of the screen.
- You will return to the Power Search screen, where you can enter your search term(s), with "Atlanta Journal and Constitution" listed as the source you are searching.

How to Search:
- Since there is no printed index, use one of the online sources listed above to identify the dates, pages, and columns of the articles you need. For the time period 1939 - 1985 for which there is no online indexing, you need to determine the approximate date of the story you're seeking, then browse those dates of the microfilms.
- Load the appropriate reels of microfilm on the viewing equipment and browse the microfilm until you find the articles.
