How to Search:

1. To limit your search to the Plain Dealer , first click on the "Sources" tab near the top of the screen.

How to Search:

1. For recent issues, click on the "Archives: 14-day" link and enter your terms in the search box
2. For older issues, click on "Long Term" and enter your terms in the search box.
3. The searchable archives date back to 1989; articles back to the 1920s are available for a fee, but you will need to know the date(s) of the articles you are looking for.

Full-text: Yes, articles can be printed or scanned using equipment in the Microforms Collection; for help, ask at the 1st floor service desk.

How to Search:

1. Use the printed Index to Cleveland Newspapers/Cleveland News Index for the years 1976 - 1994 to identify the date, sections, and pages of the desired articles. This index has the call number Ref. AI21 .C54x and is shelved in Alden Library's Reference Collection (2nd floor).
2. Load the appropriate reels of microfilm on the viewing equipment and browse the microfilm until you find the articles.
3. For older articles, you need to determine the approximate date of the story you're seeking, then browse those dates of the microfilms.
