and Chadwyck-Healey Databases
These instructions assume that you have searched a Chadwyck-Healey database and found some results that you wish to import into RefWorks. Please note, however, that Chadwyck-Healey databases do not have identical interfaces. That is to say, use the sample screens below to get the general idea of what to do in each of these databases; the exact layout of the pages will differ from one database to another.
Exporting References from a Chadwyck-Healey database
- On the Article Search Results page, mark the records you want to import by clicking on the boxes next to Add to Marked List.
- Click Marked List.
- On the Marked List page the pages you marked will have checkmarks; you can deselect individual records here, before exporting the others, if you wish.
- Click on Download Selected Citations.
- Click on Export directly to RefWorks.
Importing References into RefWorks
After you click on the Export directly to RefWorks button in the Chadwyck-Healey database you've been using, the RefWorks User Login page will automatically open.
- Enter your login name.
- Enter your password.
- Click Login.
If you need to create a new account for RefWorks, click on the link immediately above the space for you login name. See also our separate instructions on RefWorks accounts.
Please note: Ignore the link that says "Athens Users"; it has nothing whatsoever to do with Ohio University!
- After you have logged in, the RefWorks Import page will open.
- Click View Last Imported Folder to view your references.
- RefWorks will display your reference in the Last Imported Folder window.
- For information about searching and sorting your citations or about creating and organizing folders click the RefWorks HELP link.
- Click the OLinks icon to see if an article is available in full-text, print or microform format and to submit an interlibrary loan request.
