Reserve Materials in the Libraries

This collection is comprised of continually changing materials designated by instructors as assigned or suggested readings. Books, pamphlets, videos, etc. which are kept at Alden Library's Circulation Desk (4th floor) have limited loan periods to allow equitable access to many students. The loan periods, designated by the instructor, are:

• two-hour "Library Use Only"
• overnight/4 hours during the day
• 3-day
• one week

Here's a sample ALICE screen for items on reserve for an archaeology course:

When you find the needed item in ALICE, copy the information about Reserve locations. For example:

• Alden 4th Fl Circ Res Pam -- PALMER-PF -- LOCAL USE ONLY
• Alden 4th Fl Circ Res Pam -- DF275 .C28 2001 --LOCAL USE ONLY

(Note, also, that the first of the two items in this example is also available electronically.)

Give the information to a staff member at the Circulation Desk, who will then check the item(s) out to you.

You must present a valid OU ID card to borrow Reserve material.

There are late return fees for overdue reserve materials.
