Visual Resources / Slide Collection

VR/SC

The Frederick and Kazuko Harris Art Library maintains this unique campus resource offering approximately 270,000 35mm slides. Areas covered include architecture, sculpture, and painting, as well as photography, manuscripts, applied arts, and other related areas. The collection offers a timeline from the earliest known creative expression to the present. These materials are used primarily for instructional purposes in undergraduate and graduate courses.

The VR/SC supports the teaching needs of various programs and departments campus-wide. Materials circulate to faculty members and graduate students only. Others may utilize the collection with permission from an instructor and the curator.

Unique images housed in the VR/SC include a generous sampling of faculty and student work.

Basic Scanning Services

At present, the Art Library offers scanning of books or slides, two days per week. Scanning is available for faculty and graduate students, in support of instruction. Select books or slides, your own or library materials, then download and print this form, available also in the Fine Arts Library. It must accompany all scanning requests.
