Friends of the Libraries
of Ohio University

The Friends of the Libraries of Ohio University was formed in 1979 with the purpose of strengthening the Libraries, enhancing its collections, and promoting their usefulness.

Over the years members of the group have donated more than $200,000 in gifts to the Libraries, collection enrichment, and endowed accounts. Members enjoy privileges otherwise reserved for students, faculty, and administrators at Ohio University.

As a Friend you...

  • have access to and borrowing privileges at the libraries for more than 20 million volumes in academic libraries across Ohio
  • have borrowing privileges for books and videos in Alden Library
  • will receive Gatherings, the Friends newsletter with timely news and viewpoints about the Libraries and library topics.
  • will receive notification of Friends programs and library events held during the year.

"The Friends are vital to Ohio University's Libraries, providing exceptional support and advocacy to maintain and enhance the Libraries' place at the heart of the University."
    - Julia Zimmerman, Dean of Libraries
