You can designate that your contributions support specific activities of Ohio University Libraries listed below.

Endowments Supporting Library Operations

1804 Special Library Endowment: A reserve fund for purchasing special collections, individual additions or for building collections in the areas of developing academic programs.

Vernon R. and Marion Alden Library Endowment: This endowment is for general use by the Vernon R. Alden Library.

Arts & Humanities Junior Faculty Endowment: This endowment will provide start-up funding for newly hired, tenure-track faculty in the arts and humanities to acquire, specialized library materials and other information resources needed for their research but too specialized or too expensive to be purchased from regular departmental budgets.

Ohio University Libraries General Endowment: To provide funding for collection enrichment, cataloging, preservation, new technologies, staff development, facilities improvements, and international programs.

C.L. & Candus Marttzolff Memorial Fund: A portion of the annual income is used to acquire historical materials.

Library Preservation Endowment: Provides a permanent source of supplemental funding to enhance the Library preservation program.

Iris M. Rowe Endowment for Library Staff Development: To support professional development opportunities for Ohio University librarians.

Beth K. Stocker Endowment for University Libraries: This endowed account benefits the University Libraries.

Special Library Endowments

Marion Alden Endowment for the Southeast Asian Library Collection: Acquires books, journals and other library materials on the arts and design in Southeast Asia.

Sydney & Sonya Buck Traditional Shakespearean Collection: Earnings from this endowment are used for the purchase of library materials that focus on Shakespeare in early modern England.

Su-Chen Chang Endowment for Chinese Collection: Acquires library materials in humanities on countries, people, and cultures of East Asia, including China, Japan and Korea.

Feng Chia University Endowment: Acquires humanities books and other library materials on the countries, people and cultures of East Asia.

Frank B. Fieler Book Fund: This fund is meant specifically to provide funds for the purpose of books that illustrate the art and history of printing or the purchase of rare books generally.

James Carl Fleeman Memorial Fund: The purpose of this account is to provide for the acquisition of books and other published resources in modern European languages, especially French.

Friends of the Libraries Scholarship Fund: To be used to fund academic scholarships to provide aid for student library assistants.

Raymond Gusteson Library Endowment: The purpose is to provide funds to enable the Department of Political Science to purchase materials for Alden Library in the fields on American Politics and Law.

The Quasi-OU Contemporary History Institute Library (CHI): The primary purpose is to support acquisitions in the field of contemporary history, provide expanded library services for faculty and students associated with the CHI, and purchase of equipment to effectively utilize materials.

LaTourette-Hatcher Fund: Supports library acquisitions in the areas of health, physical education and recreation.

Hwa-Wei Lee Center for International Collections: Funds are delegated for the Curator of International Collections in consultation with bibliographers for area studies and programs served by the Center.

Constance Sands/Candus Martzolff Endowment for Archives & Special Collections: Provides additional program support for the Archives and Special Collections Department.

Joseph Wayland and Helen Bosart Morgan Library Endowment: Appropriate materials are identified and purchased by the Head of Archives & Special Collections, in consultation with faculty in the Department of Chemistry.

Charles and Ruth Overby Library Endowment (Article 9 Society-Katsumori, Ichioka, Overby-Endowment Fund): Purchases will focus on war and violence prevention and non-violent conflict resolution."

Reverend Ralph W. Parks Jr. World Religions Collection Endowment: 100% for the specific purposes of fulfilling the mission of the Ohio University Libraries.

B.A. Renkenberger Memorial Endowment: To provide for the acquisition of books and other library materials on French language, literature and culture.

Daniel K.C. Shao Endowed Curator of the You Bao Shao Overseas Chinese Documentation & Research Center: This endowment is used to support the curator's position for the You Bao Shao Overseas Documentation & Research Center.

Dr. You-Bao Shao Overseas Chinese Documentation & Research Center: To contribute to scholarship on and understanding of the contributions to the world and individual nations by the Overseas Chinese, by collecting, preserving and making accessible publications, manuscripts and other materials relating to persons of Chinese descent.

Lynn Shostack Library Endowment for the Physically Challenged: To assist physically challenged students and University faculty and staff in ways that contribute to their academic or professional studies or research, so that they may reach their full potential as personally independent and economically self-sufficient members of society.

Craig Christopher Snuggs Memorial Fund for Chemistry Acquisitions: To fund the acquisition of library materials relating to leading-edge research in the Department of Chemistry.

Southeast Asia Collection Endowment: This endowment is used specifically to support the Southeast Asia Collection for the Vernon R. Alden Library.

Donald & Marian Spencer Endowment for African-American Studies Collections: The purpose of this endowment is to provide for the acquisition of books, periodicals, videocassettes, sound recordings, and other library materials documenting African American history, politics, art, language, literature, music and culture.

Edward and Claudette Stevens Library Endowment Fund: To develop a library collection for the History of Primary and Secondary education in the United States, or materials to enhance educational development in the United States.
