Welcome Message from the Dean of University Libraries

Jan Maxwell, Interim Dean of the Libraries

Thank you very much for visiting the web site of Ohio University Libraries and my home page. It is my great pleasure to welcome you and hope that you would find the information which you need to conduct your library and information research in this electronic and virtual environment. Founded in 1804, Ohio University is the oldest state university in the old Northwest Territory with a very rich historic and educational tradition. Despite its age, both the university and its library are forward-looking and innovative. For the Libraries, our purpose is to provide the best services possible to our primary users within the university community and to those in cyberspace in accordance with the mission of the University and within the confines of our technical, legal and financial limitations.

We look forward to serving you and welcome your comments and suggestions.

Sincerely,
Jan Maxwell
