Group Study Rooms Policy

Procedure No: 20.02
Effective Date: 5/14/2007
Revised Date:

Purpose

To specify the Libraries' policy and procedure governing the use of Study Tables in Alden Library.

Policy

Groups who use the Library for 'study tables' for its members are welcome
to do so with the following conditions:

Procedures

  • Attendance must be monitored by the group itself. That is, the Library doesn't maintain notebooks for signing in.
  • Groups must follow all library policies including those concerning quiet areas, cell phone use, and food and drink.
  • Library staff members will remind group members about these policies.
  • If infractions are persistent, the Assistant Dean for Information, Education and Research or representative will contact the group's officers or advisers to discuss the problem.
  • If the group's advisers or officers aren't able to remedy ongoing problems, the Assistant Dean for Information Education and Research may ask the group to find another facility for holding study tables.
