Media Library

The Media Library has a collection of over 30,000 audio and visual media titles, in various formats such as video and DVD, audio and CD-ROM. Most titles are intended primarily for instructional use and may be reserved in advance by faculty, instructor, or graduate assistant for instructional purposes. Materials are also available for general use to any Ohio University student or staff member. Titles may be checked on ALICE, the Libraries' online catalog.

Much of the equipment once located in Alden Library’s equipment lending services is now available in The Patton College of Education and Human Services’ Curriculum & Technology Center, 215 McCracken Hall.  Students in need of equipment for class assignments can access the Center’s website for a list of available equipment, an online request form and instructions.  There is no charge for items being used for class projects, but a faculty signature confirming the use of the equipment is required. The inventory is limited and there are rental fees for personal or group functions.

Equipment is also available at the Aesthetic Technologies Lab in Putnam Hall. You can contact the Aesthetic Technologies Lab through their website.

Most videos on music and dance are located in the Music/Dance Library.

If our collection does not have what you need, we can help with the research for materials to purchase. If you want to purchase a specific title associated with a specific course, we suggest discussing this with your Subject Librarian.
