96, 97, and 141-153.) Rolls 1-6 contains Haig's handwritten diary during the War; rolls 7-10

- By the mid-1920s, the Hampton staff had filed 55,000 clippings regarding
African-American history into more than 560 subject volumes covering the full range of Black life
from 1900 to 1925. This rich collection has been reproduced on 788 Microfiche, arranged

This is truly an enormous
collection. If you have a specific title in mind, consult ALICE, titles are individually cataloged.
History of Women contains pre-1920 materials about the role of women throughout history. The
set contains nearly 8,500 volumes of printed books, approximately 2,000 pamphlets, 117
periodical titles (1,400 volumes), 80,000 pages of manuscript, and 800 photographs. The set
covers all subjects involving women worldwide. The collection was produced from the Sophia
Smith Collection at Smith College and the Schlesinger Library at Radcliffe College, plus other
collections for specific subjects. The 408-page printed guide includes a reel guide summary,
alphabetical main-entry index, periodicals title list (also in the Microform Periodical Listing),
subject/name
index, and name index to the photographs. Microfilm 6, (Staff-- note that the periodicals are first,
with reel numbers and that the reel numbers start over with the main body of the collection which

Using the printed guide remains a good guide to the collection.

Central America. Honduras. Diplomatic post records are those
kept at the embassies or legations rather in the U. S. State Department's Central files. They
contain incoming messages from Washington and much more locally gathered information than in
Washington. The period covered in this set includes the end of the occupation by U. S. Marines
and the beginnings of the presidential entrenchment of Anastasio Somoza. The role of U. S.
backing is well documented. These records are from Record Group 84 of the U. S. National

CENTRAL FILES.

The "Central Files", record group 59, are from the Department of
State's Internal and Foreign Affairs subject classifications of the Central Files (Decimal Files) now
housed in the National Archives. These files consist of instructions and correspondence received
from and sent to diplomatic posts abroad and include a wide range of materials reporting on
political, military,
social and economic developments, minutes, interviews, texts of letters and instructions, and
translations of foreign documents. This series covers the progressive presidency of Juan Manuel
Galvez, the presidential succesion crisis of 1954, rise and fall of President Julio Lozano Diaz, and
increased influence of the armed forces culminating in the military coup of 1956.
