- Most of the "oral histories" within the
Microform Collection are from the hundreds of participants in government and public affairs and
can be found in such sets as Oral Histories of the
Johnson administration;
Kennedy administration; and the
Eisenhower administration. If you have an individual in mind, try
ALICE word-search, e.g. last name & 'oral'. Individual histories are not always represented in
ALICE and it is often necessary to consult guides to collections likely to have material of interest.

contains the complete verbatim transcripts and documents released by the U. S. State Department

MONOGRAPHS.
- This collection of 650 items was filmed from holdings of the Boston
Public Library's Argentina
collection. Many items in this collection are rare because of suppression/ephemera, publications of
Communists, Socialists, Trotskyites, and nationalists. Peron himself authored 77 titles, Eva, his
co-star 5; 115 titles date before the 1943 army coup. The guide contains an introduction and
author/title indexes. 1,485 microfiche & printed guide, F2849.P48 P486 1988x.
- PETERS, William E. PAPERS; RANGE BOOKS; INDEX.
- This collection contains materials compiled by an Athens Ohio area lawyer, historian,
surveyor, with an interest in local genealogical history. Formerly Microfilm 6493; now cataloged
as F497.A8 P484, four rolls contain the Range Books consisting of maps and photographs, lists,
of tombstone inscriptions. The Index, two 16mm rolls, indexes the Range Books by surname
(including stones without sirnames.) Other materials and a checklist are in Archives, 5th floor.

DEPARTMENT CENTRAL FILES.
- The "Central Files", record group 59, are from
the Department of State's Internal and Foreign Affairs subject classifications of the Central Files
(Decimal Files) now housed in the National Archives. These files consist of instructions and
correspondence received from and sent to diplomatic posts abroad and include a wide range of
materials reporting on political, military, social and economic developments, minutes, interviews,
texts of letters and instructions, and translations of foreign documents. This series begins with
independence, land reform issues, revolt of the Hukbalahaps, covers the Ramon Magsaysay
presidency, Carlos
P. Garcia, and in general U. S. security objectives. For earlier materials see U. S. Department of
