  • Naxos Music Library - The catalog of the Naxos record label is available to Ohio University students, faculty, and staff for online listening. The Naxos Library is most strong in classical music, but also includes many other genres. This will work from computers on the campus network only!
  • Essentials of Music - A wonderful site for surfers seeking a broad range of general music knowledge.
  • Classical Net Home Page - Maintained by Dave Lampson, this is a great site for finding biographical information on composers, recommended recordings of standard repertoire, and links to a multitude of good music sites.
  • Doctoral Dissertations of Musicology-Online -DDM-Online presents an index to dissertations-in-progress and a bibliography of completed dissertations reported since mid-1995, arranged under the traditional broad categories. In addition, DDM-Online is in the process of converting all the records previously published in the earlier printed editions of Doctoral Dissertations in Musicology. The dissertations themselves are not included in DDM-Online, but many of them may be available for purchase from University Microfilms, Inc.
  • Worldwide Internet Music Resources - An excellent collection of links maintained by the Indiana University Music Library.
  • RISM-International Inventory of Musical Sources
  • The American Musicological Society maintains a huge categorized list web sites of interest to musicologists.
  • J.S. Bach Home Page-Maintained by Jan Hanford and Jan Koster, this page includes biographical information, pictures, and an searchable index of Bach's complete works, even listing recommended recordings for each piece!
  • The Gaylord Music Library Necrology File - Preparing a recital program, and you don't know if that composer born in 1909 has finally passed on? This is the site for you. Deceased composers and musicians are listed alphabetically along with their expiration dates and citations for selected obituaries.
  • Song Trellis archives hundreds of midi files and chord changes to well-known songs.

  • Carnegie Hall- A well-designed site with pictures, historical information, and concert schedules for this legendary concert hall.
  • The Cleveland Orchestra- current and historical information on the orchestra considered by many to be the best in the world.
