Bicentennial Archives Exhibits Series Begins
Tuesday, September 2nd, 2003The Robert E. and Jean R. Mahn Center for Archives & Special Collections in the Ohio University Libraries has begun a series of exhibits (June 2003-November 2004) on the history of Ohio’s first university.
“The exhibits series, one of many events over the Ohio University Bicentennial year, will explore changes at the university over time,” says George Bain, head of the Mahn Center. “We will be using materials from the University Archives for all the exhibits.”
The schedule for the series is:
- The Changing Curriculum, July-September 2003
- The Changing Campus Landscape, October-December 2003
- Present at the Creation, January-March 2004
- The Seasons of the (Academic) Year, April-June 2004
- No More Pencils, No More Books…, July-September 2004
- Range, Revolution, and the River: Changing Times at Ohio University during the Volatile 1960s and 1970s, October-December 2004
The first exhibit is already in place. More detailed information on the series of exhibits may be may be viewed on the center’s web site including a link to selected images from the first exhibit.
The location of the exhibits will be the 5th floor foyer in Alden Library, outside the Mahn Center for Archives & Special Collections. The exhibits may be viewed during library hours.
