Library Friends To Honor Authors And Performers
Friday, April 22nd, 2005The Friends of the Libraries of Ohio University are sponsoring the 15th annual reception for Ohio University Faculty & Staff Authors & Performers on Tuesday, April 26 beginning at 3:30 p.m. The program will be held in the Class of 1951 Lounge on the 4th floor of Alden Library.
“This is an event the Friends hold annually during April to recognize publicly and collectively the combined output of books and major performances of the faculty and staff,” states George Bain, Executive Secretary of the Friends. “At this year’s reception we will honor approximately 40 individuals.”
Associate Provost Martin Tuck will make brief remarks and present certificates to the honorees. Copies of many of the books and other items such as CDs will be on display, along with an exhibit of similar publications over the past century.
The event is supported by a donation from the Ohio University Credit Union. The program is open to the public. Refreshments and flute music will be provided.
The Friends of the Libraries of Ohio University, now a quarter century old, were established in 1979 to support the Libraries.
