“Test Kitchens” Installed on 7th Floor
Monday, January 30th, 2006Alden Library is offering you an opportunity to test an array of interior furnishings on loan from industry-leading design/manufacturers Herman Miller, Inc. and Steelcase, Inc. Located on 7th floor these “test kitchens” consist of mobile tables, chairs, whiteboards and other items in four distinct groupings. The groupings can be reconfigured to serve the particular needs of a particular individual or group. Webcams have been installed to record the various reconfigurations that customers create during the course of the review period.
The Herman Miller furnishings have been in place about two weeks and will be available for your review through March. Steelcase will install its “test kitchen” in mid-February. It will be in place through April. A survey is being conducted to gather customer comments. Print copies of each survey will be available onsite and online (Herman Miller Survey or Steelcase Survey). The information gathered from the surveys will help determine the type of furnishings to be purchased for the upcoming renovation of Alden Library.
