Reference Collections

Reference shelvesThe Libraries have a number of collections of "Reference" materials, which contain many standard types of works such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, directories, atlases, bibliographies, etc. Generally speaking, these are for library use only and may not be checked out.

The main reference collection is in the Learning Commons on the 2nd floor of Alden Library. It contains more than 20,000 volumes, covering all subject areas not included in the other library collections listed below.

The Reference Collections also include many online sources: article databases, encyclopedias, dictionaries, etc. which are available via our InfoTree system or by searching in ALICE.
