We have a number of film collections – please have a look as these unique works.  Some are subscriptions, such as Criterion or Film Movement, some are collections we ‘adopted’ such as Magic Video Collection and some are vendors that focus on a particular kind of film and we purchase much of their material.

Criterion Collection

“Since 1984, the Criterion Collection, a continuing series of important classic and contemporary films, has been dedicated to gathering the greatest films from around the world and publishing them in editions that offer the highest technical quality and award-winning, original supplements.”  (Source:  http://www.criterion.com/about_us) For further information on the Criterion Collection, visit their site.

We’ve made it our goal here at Alden to keep up with everything that is produced by Criterion.  It’s a great way to get a look at what movies are considered worthy of additional time and effort being put into their new releases.   You can explore even further as Criterion will add essays and articles on the films, filmmakers and themes.

Film Movement Series

Film Movement has released films from 25 countries and six continents, including top prize winners from Sundance, Cannes, Venice, Toronto, Berlin, Tribeca and many other prestigious film festivals. (Source:  Film Movement About page)
