Virtual Tour of Southeast Ohio
Regional Depository
The Southeast Ohio Regional Depository is a high-density library storage facility for low-use library materials, including books, university records, and other boxed items. The staff organize, retrieve, and deliver materials daily. Requests for delivery to Alden Library are placed online through ALICE. Visitors may also use retrieved materials in the Annex Reading Room. These photos provide an inside look at the Annex.

Welcome to the Library Annex (also known as the Southeast Ohio Regional Library Depository), located at 205 Columbus Road in Athens, Ohio. Our hours of operation are: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; closed on weekends. |
 |
You will be greeted at the front desk by staff ready to assist you in your use of the stored materials. |
 |
A comfortable reading area with a photocopier is provided if you choose not to have your requested materials delivered to Alden Library for pickup and use. |
 |
The items are stored in trays on eighteen-foot high shelving to maximize the storage capacity. |
 |
Retrieval of requested material is facilitated through the use of an order picker. The thirteen-digit location barcode on each item indicates the row, range, shelf, and position of the tray for ease of retireval. |
 |
Our courier service delivers local requests to the Alden Library
Circulation Desk at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. each weekday. We also fill requests
for Document Delivery and Interlibrary Loan through ILLiad, as well as
statewide OhioLINK requests using the PCIRC system. |
