Fines for Overdue Materials

Late returns of library materials will result in overdue fines and processing fees. Failure to pay these charges will result in the loss of library privileges. Delinquent accounts may be referred for collection.

When the maximum fine is reached, the material will be assumed lost and a hold placed on a student's record. Non-student borrowers will be billed as follows:

1. fines accrued from the date due until the date the bill is paid, and
2. the cost of the lost material, plus a library processing fee of $25.00

Fines should be paid at the Circulation Desk on the 4th floor of Alden Library.Receipts are available upon request.

Ohio University Materials

OhioLINK Materials

The fine for overdue OhioLINK materials is 50¢ per item per day. A $50.00 fine will be assessed for OhioLINK materials that are 30 days or more overdue.

Interlibrary Loan Materials

The fine for overdue Interlibrary Loan materials is $3.00 per item per day (5 day maximum).

Fees for Lost Library Materials

Cost of the item plus a $25.00 processing fee.
