Adaptive Equipment

Shostak Adaptive Equipment Room in Alden Library's Learning Commons Visually impaired patrons and learning disabled may use the G. Lynn Shostak Adaptive Equipment Room in the Learning Commons on the 2nd floor of Alden Library. Research databases and the Internet are searchable on this computer. The computer is equipped with a scanner and a Braille printer.

An EdnaLite enlarger with color enhancement is available in the newspaper area on the fourth floor.

The Learning Commons on the 2nd floor has an ADA-compliant laptop computer which can be borrowed from the service desk there for use in the library. The software on it includes DragonSpeak, TextHelp, and Kurzweil.

Microphone headsets may also be borrowed from the same service desk for use in the library.
