Computer Software for Persons with Disabilities

All public PCs in Alden Library have the following software applications installed. Go to StartupMenu/Programs/ADA.

TextHelp
Quick Reference Card (1 page, PDF)
Guide Book (58 pages, PDF)
Kurzweil 3000
The PC in the Adaptive Equipment Room on the 2nd floor contains the following software applications in addition to TetxHelp and Kurzweil 3000:

JAWS
JAWS Tutorial: designed for a sighted tutor to teach a blind user to use JAWS with Windows programs (71 pages, PDF)
Open Book
User Guide (web page at Indiana University)
ZoomText
Provides a full range of magnification levels up to 16x
Duxbury Translation Software
Imports files from Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, SGML, ICADD, HTML, plain text, or Braille text. Translates word files to Braille and allows for documents to be embossed onto Braille paper for Braille readers.
