Learning Commons Library Services

The Library Services desk is staffed by librarians from Alden Library's Reference and Instruction Department. The Reference staff can help with:

• Finding books, in our collections or elsewhere
• Choosing and using databases for journal articles
• Answering questions in general
• Reserving group study rooms

The librarians also teach many classes in Room 251, which is open for general use any time classes are not being taught there.

Besides librarians who can answer your questions, the Learning Commons also has a collection of more than 20,000 reference books: encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases, directories, statistical sources, and much else—and the librarians can help you find just the books you need.
