EBSCOhost Databases
EBSCOhost is our major provider of online article databases, including Academic Search Complete, Business Source Complete, and several dozen others. [Complete list of our EBSCOhost databases]The EBSCOhost interface provides updating services via both RSS feeds and an email alert service.
To take full advantage of the alert features, we recommend that you create a free EBSCOhost account for yourself. To do so, simply click on
at the top of the window and provide the required information. Once you have logged in, the EBSCOhost logo will look like this:  Besides allowing you to create alerts for new articles on topics of interest to you, you can also use your account to permanently store articles and search strategies for later use.
Creating RSS Feeds and Alerts
- While viewing a set of search results for which you want an alert, click on either the little orange-and-white RSS icon or the Alert / Save / Share link at the top of the list.

- If you click on the Alert / Save / Share link, a small popup will show several options.

- If you clicked on the orange-and-white RSS logo or the "Create an RSS Feed" link, this window will pop up.
- Note the RSS logo and link.
- Select and copy the link; just clicking on it may not work right. Then paste the link you copied into the appropriate place in your RSS reader.
- If you want to set up an email alert instead of an RSS feed, follow the "Sign in and creat a new alert" link.

- If you wish to create an Alert instead of an RSS feed, here's what you will see when you create a new alert.
- Give the alert a distinctive name.
- You can cause the alert to search multiple databases by scrolling through the list of EBSCOhost databases and control-clicking (right-clicking) as many database titles as you wish.
- Choose a type of search and other parameters. Choosing "Alert" means you will automatically receive an email notice whenever new articles that match your criteria appear in the database(s) selected above. Saved Searches will be kept in your EBSCOhost account, that is available to you whenever you login.
- Choose your email options, and enter one or more email addresses.
- Be sure to Save this configuration!
