African Cultural Policy Resources
The site lists African regional and local cultural policies and links to various documents including working papers, reports, conclusions and recommendations as well as providing access to information on various projects, events and publications. Also provides links to African and international institutions, foundations, regional and sub-regional organizations, non governmental organizations and research centers.

Afrika.no. The Index on Africa
An Internet portal containing annotated links to Web sites on subjects such as development and aid, economy and finance, environment and agriculture, statistics, women and gender, security and conflict, health and human rights.

Africa South of the Sahara: Stanford University Libraries
A gateway for internet resources on Africa, accessible by country or topics including organizations, book dealers, business, sports, travel, weather, African Studies programs and statistics.

Columbia University Libraries
A gateway for searching for Internet resources on Africa covering various topics both scholarly and general including African biography, international directory of African studies scholars, diaspora resources, language resources, maps, flags, embassies and much more.

Connecting Africa
A web portal for African studies in the Netherlands, provides access to African research information and materials produced in the Netherlands.

Development Gateway
An online resources portal for development information and knowledge-sharing worldwide. The tools on this Web site bring together people and organizations around the world interested in working to improve life in developing countries.

ELDIS
ELDIS offers a directory of websites, databases, library catalogues and email discussion lists depicting the best in development policy, practice and research.

Food Security and Food Policy Information portal for Africa
Provides access to a directory of publications and presentations on food security prepared by Michigan State University researchers and collaborators in Africa, available in English, French and Portuguese.

H-Africa Network
Part of H-Net’s consortium of scholarly lists and provides a forum for discussion of African history, culture and various topics of interest to African studies. Provides access to book reviews, essays, reports, briefing papers and links to African studies programs.

International Network for Higher Education in Africa
An information clearinghouse for institutions and individuals engaged in research, development, and advocacy activities related to postsecondary education in Africa.

The Nordic Africa Institute : A Guide to Africa on the Internet
A research-oriented link collection, divided into country and subject resources. Many of the links function as guides to the various subjects.

One World-Africa
The site contains news, opinions, perspectives and special reports on Africa from a network of organizations that promote social justice, human rights awareness and fighting poverty.

University of Wisconsin-Madison - Opportunities in African Studies Worldwide
Provides information on opportunities and programs available in African Studies including language programs, conferences, call for papers, employment, internships, study abroad and fellowships.

Provides information on current African heads of state and cabinet ministers of African governments, based on information obtained from the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

CIA World Factbook
Published annually and updated periodically throughout the year by the Central Intelligence Agency. Information provided includes geography, people, government, economy, communications, transportation, military and transnational issues.

U.S. Department of State, Background Notes
Provides information on countries including facts about the land, people, history, government, political conditions, economy and foreign relations.
