Cite My Sources

Take a look at the Libraries' guide to citing your sources. Also, many online databases will contain citation information. Look for this in either the FAQ or Help pages of the database.

Find Articles in Harvard Business Review

  1. Go to Business Source Complete
  2. Click on the Publications Tab
  3. Search for Harvard Business Review
  4. Select the publication, then search for your article within the publication.

Find A Case Study

Case studies about business topics may be found in Business Source Complete or Business & Management Practices.

  • In Business Source Complete, type your topic in the search box, and then scroll down the page to look for the Article Type box. Select "Case Study" to limit the search, and then click "Search".
  • In Business & Management Practices, you may search by keyword, or you can select a term in the Concept, Industry, or Department boxes. Next, select "Case Study" in the Article Type box, and then click "Search".

Find the Full Text (When there is none)

  • Some databases may only give you the citation and abstract for certain journal articles. Many databases (such as Business Source Complete and Business & Industry) will have a "Find A Copy" link next to the article. Clicking this link will open a new window that will tell you if the library owns a copy of the journal. This will point you to either the print location (if the library owns it) or to a link where you may find the full text online.
  • Other databases do not have this "Find A Copy" feature. What you will have to do is notate the name of the journal and search for the name of the journal in ALICE. You will need to do a Periodical Title Search for the name of the journal (NOT THE NAME OF THE ARTICLE) to see if Ohio University Libraries owns the item. If the journal is held in our collection, ALICE will display where the journal can be accessed. The journal could be available in print or in electronic format. Please note that print formats may be stored in multiple locations in the library.

Request Books from OhioLINK

As an Ohio University student, you have access to books from many of the other libraries from around the state. This is useful if Alden's copy of a book is checked out, or if you want to see what other libraries have on a topic. Take a look at the guide to borrowing from OhioLINK libraries.

Access the Z Drive

Directions to accessing the College of Business "Z" Drive can be found on the Business Blog.
