Circulation Statistics for Magazines and Journals
1930-present
NOTE: Circulation statistics for magazines did not begin until about 1930.
Several periodical directories are published annually, containing circulation statistics and basic publisher information for the current year. The most recent of the following volumes are available at the 2nd floor Learning Commons Desk (must have student ID to use) while older volumes are in the Alden Library Stacks or Annex:
*Ulrich's International Periodicals Directory (1932-present) *Gale Directory of Publications and Broadcast Media (1990-2008) 2009- now online
Alden Library also has the Gale directory (formerly called Ayer's) in print format for the years 1952-1989 under its various title iterations:

Circulation Statistics for Newspapers
The following directories contain information such as basic facts (editor name, subscription cost, etc.) as well as advertising and circulation statistics.
1952-present

Ayer's American Newspaper Annual (previously Rowell's American Newspaper Directory)
Digitized directories of American newspapers (1869-1922) in image format with both low and high-quality images in PDF format, which are very large and may sometimes take some time to download.
