Current Newspaper Articles
- Full-text articles from U.S. major newspapers as well as smaller regional papers. Includes a very good selection of Ohio Newspapers. This database is very comprehensive, so its good for when you want to be reasonably sure that you are searching all the articles that appeared in the original print newspapers (includes AP Wire stories). A subset of this database is America's News Magazines. Also a source for popular magazines
- Factiva:A very rich database, chock full of full-text articles from newspapers and magazines in the U.S. and across the World, as well as web content. Includes a large number of foreign-language publications and also news wires and broadcast transcripts. Also a source for popular magazines.
- Note: Factiva allows a maximum of 6 simultaneous users, so if you cannot access the database try back in a few minutes. Also be aware that because of this cap on the number of simultaneous users, you may lose access after a period of 3 minutes of non-use. If this happens, go back to the InfoTree page for Factiva and click through to access the database again (this loss of access will not occur as long as you are actively using the database)
- Lexis Nexis Academic:Contains the full-text of articles from major newspapers in the U.S. and around the World, as well as radio and television broadcast transcripts and newswire transcripts. Photos and other graphics are not included, as well as AP wire* stories and some freelance articles that appeared in the original print newspapers. Also a source for popular magazines.

- Newspaper Source:This EBSCO database contains the full-text of newspaper articles from over 200 sources, mostly regional U.S. newspapers, but also a few international papers, newswires, newspaper columns and TV and radio news transcripts.
- Proquest Newspapers (formerly Newspaper Abstracts):Indexes articles from 27 American newspapers, plus the London Guardian. Coverage is from about 1980 to the present, depending on individual title. Comprehensive indexing. The database contains abstracts/citations only (must click Find A Copy to gain access to articles in either the library's print collection or other full-text database)

- America's Historical Newspapers:Full text, searchable scanned images of early American newspapers published between 1690 and 1922. You can limit your search to a presidential terms or time frames (such the Antebellum period or Reconstruction).
- New York Times, Historical:Searchable full text PDF of the complete run of the New York Times from 1851 to 3 yrs ago, including pictures and advertisements.

- Newspaper Archive: Searchable digitized images from more 3,000 different newspapers, going back as far as the 18th century. A good source for smaller, regional papers. Includes a number of years from the Athens Messenger.
- Washington Post, Historical:Searchable full text PDF of the complete run of the Washington Post from 1877 to 1990, including pictures and advertisements.

- Chicago Defender:Full text of every page from every available issue of the African American newspaper, the Chicago Defender, from 1905 through 1975.
