Statistics from U.S. Government Sources
Fedstats (browse by subject) The gateway to statistics from over 100 United States Federal agencies. Includes links to statistics and statistical agencies on a wide range of subjects.
USA.gov (formerly FirstGov) The official United States government gateways for citizens, businesses, and governments. A federal/state search tool, quick links to agencies and references, and a topic selector are included.
Google U.S. Government Search (example search: statistics AND abortion)
The Statistical Abstract of the United States (browse by broad subject) A collection of statistics on social and economic conditions in the United States and selected international data. Also serves as a source for other data from the Census Bureau, other Federal agencies, and private organizations. The Abstract includes a section on Information and Communication statistics. TIP: this source may be easier to use in print than online -- there are print copies at the 5th fl and 2nd fl desks in Alden Library.
American Factfinder (U.S. census data from 1990 and 2000) A primary government source for population, demographic, housing, economic and demographic data; a wide variety of Census data, including population estimates, business census and datasets. The Census Bureau's regular censuses and the decennial U.S. Census are sources for the data. Useful areas include People, Housing, Business and Government, Data Sets and Maps. Includes links to Census Bureau reference materials and reports.

Statistical Resources on the Web (browse by subject) a comprehensive portal to statistics by the University of Michigan Documents Center.
International Statistics
National and International Data Sources and Links Links to the statistical offices of individual nations. From the United Nations Statistical Division.
Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) Provides detailed statistics and reports related to economic development for 30 member countries, collected from statistical agencies of those member countries.
Laborsta Internet Labor statistics for over 200 countries or territories from the International Labour Office. Yearly data of Total and Economically active population, Employment, Unemployment, Hours of Work, Wages, Labour Cost, Consumer Price Indices, Occupational Injuries, Strikes and Lockouts.

A useful resource for international market research, Internet statistics, broadband penetration, world population data and global trade information.
Audit Bureau of Circulation eCirc Reports (ABC Reports) Newspaper and magazine circulation statistics for publications in North America and some international locations. Other free reports, including reader profiles and circulation rankings are available. Ohio University Libraries does not subscribe to all online reports
