IEEE Search Restriction Example

Ohio University's subscription to IEEE Xplore is restricted to the All Societies Periodical Package or ASPP. The library has access to only the periodicals of IEEE. IEEE's search engine automatically searches their entire content including content that the library cannot afford to subscribe to. Instructions for limiting your searches so that you can look at just what is available can be found below.

You still can get access to items that the library does not subscribe to (through the regular search) you just need to submit Interlibrary Loan requests for those items. That service also has a lag time of 7-10 days to turn around articles to you in Electronic Format.

To search IEEE Xplore for information that Alden Library subscribes to when making a search you need to perform these steps:

Select the Advanced Search by clicking on Search -> Advanced

Select the radio button for "Search subscribed full-text content only"

Now any searches you run through the Advanced Search will only return content that Ohio University has subscribed to and as such you will be able to access the full text.
