Searching for information about the company that you are working with? Look in the many business databases that the library subscribes to that deal with company information. I would suggest trying Business Source Complete, Company Dossier (LexisNexis), and Hoover's Onlineas they are very useful databases for company information. There is also this guide to using ReferenceUSA which has information about even small companies.
Searching for standards? Well with the current capstone project we have some suggestions. The governmental standards organizations tend to have more readily available standards. If you are having a problem getting a standard you should contact Michael Wilson or Alden library. You can also check out this example of how to request a standard that the library does not own.
