Full text of some 1200 plays written from the mid-1800s to the present by more than 200 playwrights from North America, English-speaking Africa, the Caribbean, and other African diaspora countries. Entries are clustered under three historical groupings: North America, 1840s-1950s; North America, 1960s-1990s, and African and Caribbean Drama, 20th Century. Many of these works have never before been published and others are either rare or no longer in print.
