Database of some 60,000 images of original manuscript and printed documents along with scholarly interpretive essays on empires (with emphasis on the British empire). Empire On-Line will eventually have five sections: Cultural Contacts, 1492-1969 (available now), Empire Writing and the Literature of Empire - Winter 2003/4, The Visible Empire - Winter 2004/5, Religion and Empire - Winter 2005/6, Race, Class and Colonialism, c.1783-1969 - Winter 2006/7.
