Alden Library to Host Open Education Webinars

As part of Ohio University Libraries’ ongoing initiative to provide instructors with information and resources about the Open Access Initiative (OA), an online movement to freely promote research and share ideas, we will host a day-long series of webinars offered by the National Information and Standards Organization (NISO) titled, “Opening Up Education: Textbooks, Resources, Courseware & More.”

The virtual conference, held Wednesday, April 19 from 11am and 5pm in Alden Library’s third floor Learning Lab (323), is free and open to all, especially to interested faculty and graduate instructors.

According to the NISO announcement of the event: The conference “…will address the complexities of delivering instructional tools and digital resources in the increasingly open educational ecosystem. What is a textbook? Can it be engineered into an online learning environment, with content, study aids, and quizzes delivered as appropriate to create a personalized student experience?…[and] What does a growing interest in OER suggest for the various stakeholders? ”

Stop by and stay the whole day, or just take in a single session—no registration is required.
